 ofessionals in industry\, academia\, and government\, from the advanced co
 mputing community across the state. HPC is one of many industries facing a
 n uphill battle in diversity\, so we’ll talk about the challenges and so
 me ways to combat them. More diverse teams are more successful – make su
 re you’re among them.\n\nAbout the Speaker\nMelyssa Fratkin\nIndustrial 
 Programs Director\, Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC)\n\n\nMelyssa Fr
 atkin is the Industrial Programs Director at the Texas Advanced Computing 
 Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin. In this role\, she ove
 rsees TACC’s corporate partnerships and government relations activities.
  Melyssa focuses on developing and managing strong collaborations between 
 industry and academia with the Science &amp\; Technology Affiliates for Re
 search (STAR) program.\n\nMelyssa is the founding co-chair of Texas Women 
 in HPC\, an organization aimed at supporting women and minorities in high 
 performance computing in industry\, academia and government across the sta
 te of Texas\, by engaging in initiatives to raise awareness and broaden di
 versity in HPC. She also serves as Communications Chair of the ACM Special
  Interest Group on High Performance Computing (SIGHPC).\n\nMelyssa receive
 d a BA from Rutgers University and MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of 
 Business at the University of Maryland.\n\n\n\n\nMembers: remember to logi
